People are not coloring books

"Kids are not coloring books that you can simply fill in with your favorite colors" ~ Kite runner

This quote really stood out to me, lots of quotes have in recent weeks. I find the point made very interesting and valid, people choose their own colors and color schemes. Though they may not be your favorites, or your choices, somehow you can find yourself attracted to them. The metaphor implied in that phrase is huge. To say that not everyone is the same based on pure choice alone, the different "colors" or choices that people make to reflect themselves is what attracts us to others. I also find it interesting how people choose to live their lives. I respect everyone's opinion but certain things don't make sense to me. A friend and I had a discussion recently about stress and perspective of life in general. I spoke with them about someone recently asking me why I always seem calm and don't seem to stress often. I suppose the simplest, most straightforward answer I could give was "perspective"

I inquired and found out that this person was stressing about the past, stressing about the present and stressing about the future. This is where personal perspective comes into play I suppose. For me, the past is gone, though it may have been stressful at the time, why should it be stressful now? why should there be regret? Choices were already made and the outcome is what you're currently living, there is no reason to stress about the past that has already happened. Even though it may have been a difficult situation, and the hardest thing you've been through, it's already happened, you've already lived it, the worst is over. Again this is all my own personal belief system. Then they asked me how I could so easily dismiss the future and not stress about it. The future for me is not dismissed but I also know and realize that it has yet to happen. Knowing this, I give my future proper thought and respect but I do not give into stress. There is no need, if you for see a stressful situation approaching why and how would you not change it? The choices you make now can always affect your future and It's outcome.  So stress? No, I say plan, plan for the future, learn from the past, if there is anything to stress it's today.

So then, why do I not seemed stressed about the present? I do, just like everyone else I get stressed by the present, by the now, the current, here, today. If you take time to review things and think about it all in the big picture, usually things aren't so bad. You may not have money to go out, but you have great friends some of which you can call and hang out with to stay in and watch a movie instead. If you don't know what to wear, then be glad that you've got so many choices that it's actually difficult to find an outfit. If you need to be studying, get away from the tv, go to the library, get off myspace, and start reading. It's amazing to me how lazy people in general have become, to actually be so lazy as to not wanting to read is a bit crazy to me. Not all of us are bright, that's fine, but all have the same opportunity, there is a difference between not being able to comprehend the material and not doing anything at all.

What's left to say?
Relax, take it easy, breath, be at peace. We all make mistakes so learn from them.
"There are no such things as mistakes, only happy surprises." ~ Bob Ross
We are in so much of a rush these days that it's easy to get caught up so much that we lose sight of things. We lose the beauty of life everyday. The discussion with my friend lead to questions about the quality of life. I had told them my motto of relaxing and taking things easy. Life is already happening, it's what you take out of life that is important. I can't think of the exact conversation that took place but I told them to observe people. How people regularly are so rushed that they will actually RUSH OTHERS. We all take our own time to get things done, chances are that when you got ready this morning unless you woke up late, you took your time, needless to say that nobody else rushed you. Why should you rob someone of simply taking their own pace and time to do things? Being inconsiderate to those waiting for you is another story, all I now is that I personally hate being rushed, so I will try my best not to rush others. I don't know how many of you will take time to read this and I don't necessarily think that you should agree with what I'm saying. It's just a few thoughts that I felt like I needed to transcribe into words.
Thank you for taking time to read, sorry if it was so long, but it could be worse, you could have been to lazy to look through it.
